Valentine is here again. It brings with it so much excitement. For us in the Dove Eyes House, we are super excited. Why, you may ask? Dove Eyes as a ministry of hope and encouragement will be 10 years old this year, 2018. We hit the air waves in April 2008 and have not looked back since. It has been a long journey but one that has truly helped to shape me into the woman I am today.  What are we all about? Dove Eyes with Chinwe Kalu is a 30 minute weekly contemporary, inspirational and motivational show. I, Chinwe Kalu, host the show. My intention is to inspire, motivate and entertain young people through beautiful motivating stories and insightful discussions.  I have hosted several Nigerian influencers- Fela

Unleashing the Power of Imagination in 2016

I am still so excited about this year 2016, even though we are now in February. I can no longer call this a new year. That means we need to get on with the year. At this point we should be working our aspirations and dreams for the year. I asked myself how do we do that and I had heard a sermon by Pade Durotoye, Unleashing the Power of Imagination in 2016. This is my summary of the things he said that day. I think this is another way of saying live by faith because faith and the imagination walk side by side. How do we unleash the power of our imagination? How do we unleash this power in our lives to arrive at the lives we

Soaring High in 2016

I am particularly excited about 2016. It promises to be a great and flourishing year especially for people of faith. It is a defining year for us despite the issues we have as a nation and the looming predictions. We will rise up to who are as people of faith. We walk not by sight but by faith. We see the things that are not as though they are. So even though the predictions make sense, we will look above them and draw down solutions. We must not operate in fear and despair, because there is a lifting up even though it seems like there is a casting down. We must trust God enough to live our best most daring lives, the lives we truly want to live

Thankful, Grateful, God is Good

The Word Psalm 103:1-2 1 BLESS (AFFECTIONATELY, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits– The Message December is here again-the last month of the year 2015. My thanksgiving and gratitude mode has been activated. I look around me and despite all the bad news around us I still feel it is such a privilege to be alive today. I am not taking being alive for granted. For me, it does not matter what the circumstances are-good or bad. All I know is that being alive gives me the opportunity to hope for a better tomorrow. And that is the

Faith As I See It

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. When I got born again so many years ago, Faith was such a fascinating phenomenon. It seemed so simple yet so difficult.  It’s easy to listen to a sermon on faith. It is even exciting. However, when you have to faith healing from a terminal disease or your rent is due tomorrow and you are in faith or you need an opportunity that a million other people also want, then you understand why faith is not easy. I could not take my time to understand faith. I learnt it on the job. I did not have the luxury of being able to

1 Samuel 17:12-50 (The Message Bible) Enter David. He was the son of Jesse the Ephrathite from Bethlehem in Judah. Jesse, the father of eight sons, was himself too old to join Saul’s army. Jesse’s three oldest sons had followed Saul to war. The names of the three sons who had joined up with Saul were Eliab, the firstborn; next, Abinadab; and third, Shammah. David was the youngest son. While his three oldest brothers went to war with Saul, David went back and forth from attending to Saul to tending his father’s sheep in Bethlehem………. The Message The year is still new but is running so fast. With all the negative reports from the economy-Oil prices are crashing, the Naira is being devalued etc, there is a need

2015, OUR YEAR OF GREAT FLOURISHING

It’s been a wonderful 2014 and we have all launched into 2015. 2015 is filled with a lot of expectations, fears and faith. Faith will be ignited, rekindled, or destroyed; it all boils down to what you want to take out of 2015. I am so excited about this year 2015. It promises to be a great and flourishing year especially for people of faith. I know someone will wonder what I am talking about. Oil prices are crashing, the Naira is being devalued, and our economic indices have not   looked so bad in a long time. There all sorts of predictions going around about Nigeria at the moment. But we will rise up to who we are as people of faith.  For we walk not by sight

Little Things in His Hands

Little Things in His Hands The Word 1 Corinthians 15:37 37 Nor is the seed you sow then the body which it is going to have [later], but it is a naked kernel, perhaps of wheat or some of the rest of the grains.  38 But God gives to it the body that He plans and sees fit, and to each kind of seed a body of its own. The Message Recently, I bought myself a little charm bracelet and was very excited about it. I bought it at a great bargain and was really looking forward to wearing it when the occasion would arise.  I have this thing for charm bracelets. Then I began to feel a nudge to give it to a particular younger friend of
